Define Subconscious Mind
The subconscious mind is the powerful secondary machine that runs everything in our life. Learning how to stimulate communication between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind is a powerful tool on the road to success, happiness and wealth.

The Subconscious Mind is the mind that people are unaware of – whilst awareness may shift between the subconscious and conscious. Deeply held beliefs, associations, perceptions, emotions, insecurities, etc are mostly below the level of awareness.
Power of the subconscious mind
It works far faster than the conscious mind, without any conscious direction at all. Take the example of someone who is talking to someone – he don’t need to think about each word to use – they just ‘happen’ automatically. His conscious mind is following a stream of meaning, and the Power of the subconscious mind automatically finds the words associated with those meanings.
This power of association – seemingly very simple, but extremely complex – doesn’t just fuel our expression of language, but also associative thoughts, emotions, and ideas about things. These associations are streaming through human mind every second of the day – bringing memories, ideas, thoughts, and emotions. Everything is associated.

Subconscious and Conscious mind
People often describe the mind as being like an iceberg, with the conscious mind floating above the surface. But this is a poor analogy – it doesn’t cater for the dynamic, ever-changing nature of awareness and consciousness.
Think of your mind as a big, dark room, full of things. The conscious is like pointing a torch around, lighting at any given moment just a few tiny objects. It is like conscious awareness. Even more appropriately, imagine you have seven torches being shone around at any one time. This represents the average number of things you hold in conscious awareness at any one time – which could be visual, auditory, a thought, a feeling, a memory, whatever. Everything outside of those torches is in the dark – and is subconscious – but the torch lights are continuously moving around.
Thinking Subconsciously
Animals also have similar subconscious protection to humans. A baby chimp spotting a tiger for the first time, would not automatically experience fear. The baby chimp’s mother, however, would show her programmed fear automatically for her baby to see. The baby chimp would then be programmed to take on the necessary fear and intuition for the rest of its life as subconscious self protection.

Each of your memories is stored in the subconscious mind.
Of all the things that happen around you right now, the ones you know about our consciousness and the rest are perceived by the power.
You may not have known your finger on the screen or hand at the mouse until now.
You are now that I have drawn your attention to them, but your subconscious was likely aware of these things already.

If you’re in a room full of people, you’re just consciously aware of a few things, like what you’re talking to someone about, their name, BUT the subconscious mind is aware of all this and your inner states, how long you’ve left, what events in the past you’ve talked with each other about the things you’re thinking about, and what other people’s thinking about.
You might not be aware of other people’s conversations until the subconscious hears your name being mentioned, then it immediately draws your conscious attention to it
Automaticity of Subconscious mind
Autopilot mode
Perhaps you were expecting to learn here about how the Power of the subconscious mind can go on autopilot, such as when you’re driving home on a long journey and can’t remember it afterwards.

The truth is scarier (or more fascinating, depending on how you look at it) – the subconscious mind is always on autopilot. At any one time, we’re prone to whatever the subconscious chooses to throw out – whether automatic behavioural responses, emotions or even conscious thoughts (it may challenge your idea of free-will, but even conscious thoughts are created first subconsciously)
Working Process
Our subconscious minds helpfully take on a lot of repeated behaviors, to free up our conscious minds to attend to different (more important) things.
Driving is an obvious example – when learning to drive, you have to pay attention to everything, and it can be very mentally exhausting. There isn’t much mental space for daydreaming or listening to the radio. When you’ve been driving awhile, all these processes become automatic – subconscious – happening without you realizing. With practice-subconscious skill, any synchronized response behavior will become automatic.
Similarly, learning to protect yourself from unwanted subconscious influence can, in time, become a subconscious process – you automatically recognize moments of irrationality or exploitative influence.
Subconscious Auto Questioning
The subconscious mind’s strength is like a device, at any given time continuously processing millions of items. If anyone asks you a question, your Power of the subconscious mind will continue to check and analyze even after providing a consciously adequate response. Then, a better response might just ‘pop’ into your mind, even if you didn’t know that you’re still thinking. You were but you were unaware.
Auto Suggestions to Subconscious mind
Often when in a difficult situation such as an argument or conflict, we can operate on autopilot, without really thinking at all. Behaviors and thoughts which are emotionally motivated will run wild without conscious control. And, later, the subconscious goes on analyzing it, influencing our emotions and feelings.

It can also give rise to new ideas or suggestions for topics that could have been better said, so you say to yourself ‘why didn’t I think about that at the time? ‘Even research indicates that the subconscious continues to process 30 ‘units’ a second as part of a cycle of discovery, while the conscious mind is occupied by other items. Isn’t that fascinating? (Reference: Sternberg, S. (1975) Memory Scanning: New Findings & Current Controversies. Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology, 22 1-32).
Subconscious Influence
7 Rules of Influence – basic drives that we all have that lie behind the vast majority of influential patterns.
An example is conformity – we have an inbuilt instinct to follow the crowd, to minimise the feeling of “being wrong” and confused. When there’s a fire and you feel the need to follow the masses, it’s useful. When someone is saying that “everyone else has signed, you’re the only one left” you may feel an immense psychological pressure to follow the direction. When a magazine article is making out how popular a new fad is, you might feel the need to check it out – it must be good, everyone else is doing it.
Understanding through Spiritual Context
One of the greatest truths shared by John, the brother, and disciple of Jesus Christ, was this: “Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” If taken at surface value, this simple sentence could mean of course that the enemy who prowls around seeking whom to devour is far less than the Spirit of God that dwells inside the believers.
Again, if we look a little bit beyond that meaning, it is also possible to see that the Spirit of God enables the subconscious mind to draw strength from an unfathomable and irresistible source, one stronger than the challenges which you face. When you consider this against the array of roadblocks that face you daily, it becomes easier for you to allow your Power of the subconscious mind to grasp this truth and draw strength from within you.
Dr. Stephen Covey, one of Time magazine’s 25 most influential Americans, made the following statement: ” We are the creative force of our life, and through our own decisions rather than our conditions if we carefully learn to do certain things, we can accomplish those goals.” In the final analysis, it is what we decide that matters the most, irrespective of the external circumstances.
We may have excuses but those will never change what we decide, it will only salve our conscience or serve as a consolation for our frustrations. The key to getting past the myriad challenges before you is to connect your subconscious mind to the strength inside you of which John spoke and allow it to manifest on your outer circumstances.
Dr. Covey also had this to say: ” We are not human beings on a spiritual journey. We are spiritual beings on a human journey.” Why this reference to spiritual matters when we seem to be addressing issues that are pretty empirical? I believe Stephen Covey’s statement above answers that question. We must realize that we are in fact, spiritual beings. We must deal with these circumstances the way spiritual beings do, by looking beyond and creating the solutions even when and where there does not seem to be any.
When the tax collectors sought to trap Jesus Christ about the issue of tax, he gave them a spiritually inspired answer and when he wanted to make a payment, he provided a spiritually inspired solution to the problem. Where most people miss the point is when they look at themselves as merely human, incapable of doing the impossible. The subconscious mind with which you are endowed has tremendous powers into which you are meant to tap and when you incorporate subconscious training and understand that inside of you is an unfathomable power which has endless possibilities, you can see that you are in a good position to make things happen.
Why some people struggle to achieve even the simplest of goals, while for others, success seems to just fall into their hands? It has far less to do with luck or fate, and much to do with learning to tap into your Power of the subconscious mind by training it to work in your favor, enabling you to accomplish all you set out to do.
